That is awesome! It is amazing to see mainstream media putting out such a strong positive endorsement for bicycle commuting. Jacksonville could definitely learn a thing or two from Portland. Hell, I want to move to Portland now. STEP UP JACKSONVILLE!

Yea, Jeremiah, it is nice to see the media starting to get it. The next step is getting local tv news to drop the snide comments after the showing of positive bike commuter segments. You know how they cut back to one of the anchors and one of them will say something like, "oh, that looks just so dangerous". Or, "Boy, bob sure looked all hot & sweaty. I wouldn't like to arrive to work like that. Now Cal with sports."

Hey, Jeremiah, I just check out your blog. Congrats on the new baby. We live on the same street just a couple of blocks apart. Small world or small city?

So I finally got around to watching the videos. Did you notice the discrepancy between the second and third clips? The second one says there are 1 million bike commuters now, whereas the third one says 5 million bike commuters. D'oh!

I was trying to figure out where the Jax lady was riding, though. It looks kinda like the area around St. Johns Avenue, but also kind of like the University Boulevard neighborhood near the split with Cesery.

Yea, baby! Its all about the bike. I haven't put gas in my car in over a month. (We DO need to train some drivers around Maryland, however...)
